And hop to it!

One thing us MFD frogs and frogettes have in common is that we are all a little sporty and keenly competitive. We try not to let this brim over into all out lily pad fights, however healthy competition is definitely good for all of us.

Over the odd cuppa we’ve discussed our varying approaches to business, and we thought that we’d share a few insights….some lily pad foundations if you will….which are common values for us here at MFD (though Fontelroy is cringing at the “c” word…..he is definitely NOT common!).

Training – Keep your mind on the end goal. It’s unbelievably easy to get so caught up in the little things that we forget what we are all about. It’s important to have a (training) plan. We put in the ground work, set out aims and objectives and remain focused on those. We find a routine, regularly regroup, refresh, and readjust any plans….just in case our plan needs a tweak. This means we are always looking for new ideas and continuous ways to improve.

On your marks – On the starting blocks and the adrenaline is pumping, keep calm, stay focused, be mindful of the competition. It’s always important to be aware of who else is working in your field…keeping alert to what’s happening in your arena. New ideas and developments are what challenge us to be even better and keeps us on our toes.

Set– If we’ve “trained” and got to our “marks” we should be all set. Now’s not the time to wobble. Now’s the time to ensure that we are really listening…or else we will miss the race. Our customers are who we should be listening to, without them…..

Go! – WooHoo! And we’re off…. bringing it all together to make our business as effective as possible. To reach our end goal we are connecting with the right customers at the right time, in the right way.

CELEBRATION! – How successful we are depends on many factors, however if we’ve covered the above key areas well, we are in with a pretty good chance of success. To keep us motivated it is incredibly important to celebrate success. How you do that is up to you…you might want to take the team on their first space trip, or something more humble like a cup of tea and a cake. However you do it, just take make sure you take the time to pat yourself on the back for a job well done….being Frogs we tend to go down the Champagne route!

Review – Last but not least, it is important to review the performance, the “what we did well” and “what could’ve been better”. Even if things are going well and you are “winning”, keep a close eye on each performance to ensure there are no slippages. This makes changes to Training can be made quickly and effectively….so closing the loop.

So, now you know, what are you waiting for….
